Ask any wrestling expert in the country and they will say one of the greatest determining factors for longevity in the sport of wrestling is the correct parental support.  Ask any elite wrestling parent and they will tell you they tried so many things before they landed on the correct approach.  We teach our kids single legs and standups but we don't pass on the way elite wrestling parents support their athletes and this one of a kind camp aims to change that once an for all.

When: October 19th
Where: Lincoln Way West High School - Parents in Auditorium and Athletes in Gym
Session Times: 9am and 2pm
Ages: All ages

While there are many Elite Wrestling Parents out there we have honed in on 5 who are different stages of their parenting careers but they have all produced elite wrestlers who love the sport of wrestling.  These parents have learned lessons along the way that are valuable for all age divisions and when implemented correctly this can help to avoid the trial and error process that many parents rely on.

Topics in the parent portion will include (but not limited to)
  • How to help athletes deal with losses (and wins).
  • What to say to an athlete that wants to quit.
  • What does an "off-season" look like.
  • What is "cutting weight" and what does it look like at different stages of wrestling.
  • What is the optimal amount of tournaments at different stages of wrestling.
  • At all levels of the sport what does "balance" look like.
  • So much more...
This camp is going to pull back the curtain of what these high achieving athlete's parents did to help their athletes and give each parent in attendance a clear and concise path to best help their athlete achieve in the sport of wrestling.  For far too long we have accepted the throw 'em in there and hope for the best mentality - that buck stops HERE.
